CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – Authorities from Police Regional Office 10 (PRO10) successfully apprehended 87 individuals during a weeklong series of law enforcement operations from December 12 to 18, 2024. The initiative targeted various illegal activities, resulting in significant arrests and confiscations.

Crackdown on Illegal Drugs

A total of 40 operations were conducted as part of the campaign against illegal drugs, leading to the arrest of 54 individuals. Authorities seized 399.99 grams of shabu and one gram of marijuana, with an estimated Standard Drug Price of PhP2,720,052.00. The operation marks a substantial step in the region’s fight against narcotics.

Anti-Illegal Gambling Operations

Three operations against illegal gambling resulted in the arrest of seven individuals. Confiscated items included gambling paraphernalia worth PhP1,343.00. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to curb illegal gambling activities in the region.

Campaign Against Wanted Persons

PRO10 also made strides in apprehending fugitives, arresting 22 wanted individuals. This includes two individuals classified as Most Wanted Persons and 20 identified as Other Wanted Persons. These arrests demonstrate the office’s commitment to bringing offenders to justice.

Fight Against Loose Firearms

As part of the Kontra Boga initiative, one operation led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation, surrender, or recovery of three small arms. Additionally, 475 house visitations under the Revitalized Katok (Bilang Boga) program resulted in the voluntary surrender of six firearms for safekeeping. These efforts aim to reduce the number of unregistered firearms in the community.

Anti-Smuggling Efforts

One anti-smuggling operation conducted by PRO10 led to the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of PhP13,500.00 worth of smuggled cigarettes. This highlights the region’s intensified focus on curbing the illegal trade of goods.

PBGEN Jaysen C. De Guzman, Regional Director of PRO10, lauded the dedication and effectiveness of the operating units. “Let us remain steadfast in our efforts to apprehend individuals involved in illegal activities. This is a time for heightened vigilance—not only in pursuing offenders but also in ensuring the safety and security of our communities,” he stated.

He also urged the public to cooperate by reporting illegal activities and suspicious individuals to the authorities. “Through our collective efforts, we can create a safer and more secure environment for all,” De Guzman added.
