Malapatan, Sarangani Province – In a buy-bust operation conducted on November 13, 2024, law enforcement operatives seized illegal drugs valued at Php 126,000 from a high-value target in Purok Marina, Barangay Tuyan. The operation, which took place at 9:45 PM, led to the arrest of Jansar Malik y Libasa, alias “Komini,” a 42-year-old farmer and resident of the area.
Malik, who had previously been detained on drug-related charges and released through a plea bargaining agreement, is now facing fresh allegations. Authorities confiscated one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately two grams, five packs of suspected marijuana fruiting tops weighing about 500 grams, three vials totaling 15mL of suspected marijuana oil, as well as marked buy-bust money.
The operation was the result of coordinated efforts by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Sarangani Provincial Office, the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team, Coast Guard Intelligence Group Southern Mindanao, the 1st Sarangani Police Mobile Force Company, and the Malapatan Municipal Police Station.
Following the arrest, cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale) and Section 11 (Possession) of Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against Malik.
This successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to combat illegal drug activities in Sarangani Province and throughout the region.
