As part of the ongoing celebration of the Office of the Vice President’s (OVP) 89th Founding Anniversary, a series of Thanksgiving Activities were successfully held in Butig, Lanao del Sur, on November 23, 2024.

The day began with a tree-planting activity behind the Butig Municipal Hall, where 1,000 seedlings of various trees, including Coconut, Lauan, Narra, Nato, Durian, and Jackfruit, were planted. The event also featured the installation of 30 tree guards for Golden Yellow Legumes as part of efforts to promote environmental conservation and sustainability.

The celebration continued with the distribution of school bags to 336 students from Kinder to Grade 10 at the Ma’Ahad Dosonan Al-Arabie Al-Islamie Madrassah School. This initiative aimed to support students in their educational journey.

The day concluded with a Thanksgiving event at the Bayabao Poblacion Covered Court, benefiting 1,000 individuals from various sectors, including Partners in Peace, farmers, and vendors.

The OVP extended its gratitude to partner agencies and local officials who contributed to the success of these activities, highlighting the collaborative effort to uplift communities in Lanao del Sur.

The Thanksgiving Activities underscore the OVP’s commitment to fostering peace, education, and environmental stewardship, aligning with its mission of inclusive service for all Filipinos.
