Authorities apprehended a suspected drug dealer listed as a target by both the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation on November 10, 2024. The operation took place in Zone 8, Coco Grove, Barangay Poblacion, Iligan City.
Police Colonel Reinante B. Delos Santos, Director of the Iligan City Police Office, identified the suspect as “Ronald,” a 40-year-old resident of the area.
The operation, conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 10 in coordination with Iligan City Police Station 5 and Regional Intelligence Unit 10, resulted in the seizure of approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu, valued at an estimated Php 340,000 according to the Standard Drug Price index. Authorities also confiscated a weighing scale, a wallet, and a Php 500 bill used as buy-bust money.
The suspect is now facing charges under Republic Act 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
The Iligan City Police continue to intensify anti-drug operations to maintain peace and security in the city.
