Davao de Oro Unveils Upgraded Data Center, Paving the Way for Enhanced Digital Services

Davao de Oro, Philippines – November 4, 2024

The Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Davao de Oro inaugurated its newly upgraded data center today following the monthly Holy Eucharist Mass. The ceremony signifies a major leap in the province’s commitment to advancing its digital infrastructure, aimed at improving public service efficiency and modernizing information management.

Provincial Information Technology and Communication Officer Joyzel R. Odi highlighted the critical role of the upgraded data center, which is designed to serve as a centralized hub for secure information storage and data processing. This facility will enable seamless data access and sharing across departments, streamlining workflows and strengthening government operations.

“A data center is a physical facility that stores our digital data. It is essential for business continuity, featuring robustness, security, scalability, and redundancy,” Odi explained. “As organizations embark on digitalization, protecting information assets and ensuring business continuity become top priorities. We are incredibly grateful to our Governor Dorothy ‘Dotdot’ M. Gonzaga and our Sangguniang Panlalawigan for their full support in the province’s journey toward digitalization.”

The event also marked another milestone for the Provincial Capitol, as 26 employees from various offices were inducted as newly hired and promoted members of the PLGU workforce. Their addition reflects the provincial government’s focus on strengthening its human resources to deliver more effective and responsive services to the people of Davao de Oro.

With the launch of this advanced data center, Davao de Oro is positioning itself as a forward-looking province, setting an example in technological readiness and governance innovation.
