Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines — In a decisive operation driven by intelligence reports, law enforcement officials confiscated P855,000 worth of smuggled cigarettes in Barangay Baganipay, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay. The operation also led to the arrest of a male suspect of legal age, who now faces charges related to the illicit activity.
The suspect has been taken to the Talusan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges, according to authorities.
This operation highlights the provincial government’s commitment to combating smuggling and ensuring the community is safeguarded from the adverse effects of illegal trade.
PCOL Barnard Danie V. Dasugo, the Provincial Director, lauded the efforts of the law enforcement units involved, stating:
