Mati City, Davao Oriental — A significant drug personality was apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by joint operatives in Purok Cara 3, Barangay Central, Mati City, on October 22, 2024.
Police Major Al Anthony I. Gumban, Officer-in-Charge of the Mati City Police Station, identified the suspect as “John,” a 38-year-old resident of Lower Kapayas, Purok Pagkakaisa 2, Barangay Matiao, Mati City, Davao Oriental.
According to PMaj Gumban, the suspect was arrested by the personnel of Mati City Police Station and the City Drug Enforcement Unit, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). During the operation, the authorities seized approximately 20 grams of suspected shabu, a brown coin pouch, and marked money used in the transaction.
The suspect will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office 11, under the leadership of Acting Regional Director Police Brigadier General Leon Victor Rosete, continues to intensify its fight against criminality. This is in line with the “Bagong Pilipinas” campaign to maintain peace and order, contributing to the country’s progress.
