SDSPPO Arrests Top 6 Regional Most Wanted Under EMPO

Camp Vicente L. Pimentel Sr., Tandag City – In a major law enforcement operation, personnel from the San Miguel Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by Officer-in-Charge Police Major Elmar R. Claret, in collaboration with the Regional Intelligence Unit 13 and other police units, successfully apprehended one of the region’s most wanted individuals on October 15, 2024.

Police Colonel Harry B. Domingo, Provincial Director of the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO), identified the arrested suspect as “Eloy/Resty,” a member of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) under the DGF19 SRC Southland NEMRC. Eloy/Resty, a male of legal age, married, and a resident of Purok Hayahay 1, Barangay Libas Sud, San Miguel, Surigao del Sur, was ranked as the Top 6 Most Wanted at the regional level under the EMPO (Enhanced Monitoring Program Operations).

The joint police operation took place at around 2:30 PM in Purok Hayahay 1, Brgy. Libas Sud, where Eloy/Resty was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 27, Tandag City. The warrant, dated September 25, 2024, pertains to a murder charge under Criminal Case Number 2087, with no bail recommended.

During the arrest, the suspect was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine, as well as the Anti-Torture Warning. He is now in the custody of the San Miguel MPS, where proper legal procedures are being followed.

“We are intensifying our campaign against criminality and illegal activities,” stated Police Colonel Domingo. “Operations like this will continue until Surigao del Sur is free from wanted persons and illegal activities.”
