General Santos City, October 28, 2024 — In response to the devastating impact of Tropical Storm Kristine on the Bicol region, Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), led by PBGEN James E. Gulmatico, held a Send-Off Ceremony today for a relief operation to assist affected communities. The ceremony, which took place during the traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Gen Paulino T. Santos, Barangay Tambler, General Santos City, highlighted the commitment of PRO 12 to supporting disaster-stricken regions.

PRO 12 has deployed 25 personnel to join Police Regional Office 5 in Bicol, where widespread damage and displacement have affected thousands. The relief effort is backed by Php 563,214.00 worth of essential supplies, including food packs, hygiene kits, medical items, and other necessities, generously contributed by local government units and partner organizations. The contributions aim to address urgent needs and support recovery efforts for the storm’s victims.
In his address, PBGEN Gulmatico expressed solidarity with those impacted by the disaster, underscoring the importance of unity and collective support in times of crisis. “Police Regional Office 12 is here for you during this challenging time,” he said. “You are not alone in your struggles; we’re all in this together. Together, we will rebuild, heal, and find a way to brighter days ahead. Let’s support one another and face this challenge as a united community.
