Misamis Occidental, Philippines — In a decisive anti-drug operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office X (PDEA RO-X) successfully apprehended two suspected drug personalities in a coordinated buy-bust operation on October 28, 2024, in Lower Lamac, Oroquieta City. The operation, conducted in partnership with the Oroquieta City Police Station (Oroquieta CPS), marks a significant stride in the ongoing campaign against illegal drugs in Region X.

Authorities seized around 7 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP 47,600. Those arrested included Alias Jas, 44, an alleged “maintainer” in the drug trade from Tipanoy, Iligan City, and Alias Jo, 32, a “visitor” also from Tipanoy. Another suspect, identified as Alias Kingkoy of Brgy. Roosevelt, Iligan City, remains at large and is the subject of an ongoing manhunt.

The arrested suspects will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165), which carries severe penalties for those involved in the manufacturing, selling, and use of illegal substances.
