Surigao City, October 21, 2024 – A 33-year-old man was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Surigao City Police Station earlier this afternoon at Purok 2, Sitio Kinabutan, Barangay Rizal.
The suspect, identified as Lemart Joy Paular Perdezo, a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Orok, Surigao City, was apprehended at around 3:00 PM. Authorities seized one plastic sachet of suspected shabu purchased by an undercover buyer, along with an additional 14 plastic sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 5 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱34,000.
Also confiscated from the suspect were a ₱1,000 bill used as marked money, ₱2,150 in cash, a sling pouch, and an Android smartphone.
Perdezo is now facing charges for violating Article II, Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and is currently in the custody of the Surigao City Police Station.
