In a joint effort to enhance educational resources in remote communities, the 11th Infantry “Alakdan” Division, in collaboration with Lufthansa Technik Philippines (LTPH), facilitated the donation of 10 laptops to Imam Abdusali Elementary School in Sitio Puhpuh, Angilan, Omar, Sulu. The turnover ceremony took place on October 21, 2024, as part of LTPH’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, represented by Mrs. Tara Mariano.
This latest initiative reinforces LTPH’s dedication to improving education in underserved areas. Earlier, the company had donated two classrooms to the same school, further illustrating its sustained commitment to the community. Mrs. Mariano highlighted the significance of the donation, stating, “We are proud to extend our support to the children of Imam Abdusali Elementary School. Education is the key to a brighter future, and we are committed to ensuring that even the most remote schools have the resources they need.”
The successful implementation of this project was made possible through collaboration between the 11th Infantry Division’s 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade, the Local Government of Omar, and the dedicated teachers of the elementary school. Together, they worked to ensure that the school’s infrastructure and resources would meet the unique challenges of the island community.
The new laptops are expected to greatly enhance the students’ learning experience, providing access to modern educational tools and technology. In an increasingly digital world, this initiative helps to bridge the digital divide for young learners, offering them opportunities to develop critical skills and engage with new learning platforms.
Through the continued cooperation of the 11th Infantry Division, LTPH, and local partners, efforts to uplift the education system in far-flung areas of Sulu remain strong, ensuring a brighter future for the children of Imam Abdusali Elementary School and the wider community.
