October 24, 2024 — An Indian national, Kamaljit Singh Toor, sustained gunshot wounds following an ambush in Datu Hoffer, Maguindanao del Sur on Thursday afternoon.
According to a report by Brig. Gen. Romeo Jaime Macapaz, Director of the Police Regional Office in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, Toor was driving his white Toyota Innova on his way home to Tacurong City when armed assailants attacked him in Barangay Labu-Labu. Despite his injuries, Toor managed to continue driving until he reached Barangay Kauran in Ampatuan, where he lost control, veered off the highway, struck a solar street light pole, and crashed into a freshly plowed field.
Local police and barangay officials rushed Toor, a Tacurong City resident, to the hospital for immediate medical care. Authorities in Maguindanao del Sur are actively investigating the incident, collaborating with local executives to identify the armed individuals responsible for the ambush.
