Mati City, Davao Oriental – October 5, 2024: Incumbent Governor Niño Uy, together with his running mates under Team UYON, has officially filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for the 2025 elections at the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) office in Mati City today.
Gov Uy, who is seeking re-election, emphasized his administration’s focus on further development and maintaining peace and order in Davao Oriental. His platform centers on addressing poverty reduction, environmental protection, expanding access to infrastructure, utilities, and social services, as well as ensuring the continued safety, security, and strengthening of effective governance in the province.
Joined by his family and over a thousand supporters from various parts of the province, Uy expressed gratitude for the unwavering support from the people. His leadership has brought about numerous positive changes, and the community is hopeful for the continuity of his programs and initiatives in the coming years.

According to COMELEC, as of the last Election Registration Board (ERB) hearing on July 15, there are currently 422,310 registered voters in Davao Oriental. The final voter count will be determined after the upcoming ERB hearing scheduled later this month.
The deadline for filing COCs is set for October 8, marking the beginning of the electoral race in Davao Oriental, with Team UYON poised for another round of leadership aimed at continuing progress and peace for the province.
