In a concerted anti-drug operation, the Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local officials, successfully uprooted 208 fully grown marijuana plants. The discovery and eradication took place near the boundary between Barangay Panansalan in Davao de Oro and Barangay Malibago in Cateel, Davao Oriental.
Valued at approximately PHP 41,600, the marijuana plants were confiscated as part of the Davao de Oro Police’s commitment to counter illegal drug cultivation in the region. The uprooted plants are now secured at the Compostela Police Station, awaiting proper disposal.
Authorities were able to track down the marijuana plantation through coordinated intelligence efforts, underscoring the importance of collaboration between police units, PDEA, and local leaders in combating illegal drug activities. The recent crackdown marks a significant step in safeguarding communities from the negative impact of drugs and illegal cultivation.
The Davao de Oro Police Provincial Office emphasized that efforts to detect and dismantle illegal plantations in remote areas will continue as part of the province’s comprehensive anti-drug strategy. They encouraged local residents to report any suspected drug-related activities, reaffirming the role of community support in making Davao de Oro a safer and drug-free province.
