MILF Member Arrested in PNP Buy-Bust Operation in Sultan Kudarat

A member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), listed as a High-Value Target, was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Purok Narra, Barangay Numo, Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat on October 1, 2024.

The suspect, identified as “Sal,” a 42-year-old unmarried vendor from Crossing, Barangay Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao Del Sur, was apprehended by a joint task force led by the Esperanza Municipal Police Station (MPS) under Officer-In-Charge Police Lieutenant Teody S. Centina. The operation also involved the Sultan Kudarat Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Regional Special Operations Group (RSOG) 12, the 1202nd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 (RMFB12), the 2nd Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (SKPMFC), and PDEA operatives.

The operation, conducted around 8:20 PM, resulted in the seizure of three sachets of suspected shabu valued at Php21,760, a sling bag, identification cards, a cellphone, and a Php1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.

The suspect is set to face charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reiterated its commitment to intensifying its campaign against illegal drugs to maintain peace and order in the country.
