In a major breakthrough in the fight against illegal drugs, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office X, in collaboration with the PNP-10 Intelligence Group and the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) Police Station 4, successfully conducted a buy-bust operation that led to the dismantling of a drug den in Macanhan, Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
The operation, which took place on September 13, 2024, resulted in the arrest of four individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking:
- Alias Jon2, 34 years old, resident of Macanhan, Carmen, CDO.
- Alias Ron2, 34 years old, Catholic, resident of Macanhan, Carmen, CDO.
- Alias Joe, 38 years old, resident of Macanhan, Carmen, CDO.
- Alias Ninil, 37 years old, resident of Calaanan, CDO.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized approximately 5 grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of PHP 34,000. The drug den was effectively dismantled as part of the operation.
The arrested suspects are facing charges under Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. This law addresses various offenses related to illegal drugs, including possession, sale, and distribution.
