Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur – Incumbent Municipal Councilor Hon. Mohammad Usman Alamada, 54, was gunned down on September 17, 2024, in a tragic shooting incident along the National Highway in Barangay Poblacion, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur.
According to a report from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Alamada was sitting inside his restaurant when a black Toyota Avanza without license plates suddenly stopped in front of the establishment. Armed assailants then opened fire on the councilor, hitting him multiple times in various parts of his body.
Alamada was rushed to the nearest hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival due to the severity of his injuries.
At the crime scene, authorities recovered 10 fired cartridges from an unidentified firearm. Investigators are still working to determine the type of weapon used in the attack.
A hot pursuit operation is currently underway as law enforcement continues to investigate the motive behind the killing and to identify the suspects involved in the assassination.
The local community, along with Alamada’s colleagues, has expressed shock and sorrow over the incident, calling for swift justice for the fallen councilor. The police are urging anyone with information about the crime to come forward and assist in their investigation.
