Butuan City – On September 16, 2024, five personnel from the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 in Caraga were honored for their exceptional contributions to the success of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Caraga during a ceremony at Camp Col Rafael C. Rodriguez.
Police Lieutenant Josef Carlo V. Silang and Police Master Sergeant Ronald S. Donoso were awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan for their successful anti-illegal drug operation on August 5, 2024, in Barangay Luna, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. The operation led to the arrest of a high-value individual and the seizure of 34.4993 grams of shabu, valued at ₱234,595.24.
Additionally, Police Major Randy A. Abunda and Police Chief Master Sergeant Delmendo D. Cipriano Jr. received the same medal for the arrest of the Top 5 Most Wanted Person on the PRO 13 list, who was facing charges of murder.
Ms. Marissa G. Madelo, a non-uniformed personnel (NUP) who served as the Crime Registrar for the Tubod Municipal Police Station under the Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office for nine years and seven months, was also recognized for her dedicated service.
Police Brigadier General Alan M. Nazarro, Regional Director of PRO 13, represented by Police Colonel Michael F. Labanan, Deputy Regional Director for Administration, congratulated the awardees and encouraged all members of PNP Caraga to embody the same level of dedication and excellence in their service to the community.
“Let us show the people that we remain steadfast in our duty to serve and protect. Whatever the challenges along the way, let us always rise above them. Let us be faithful to our sworn mandate,” said PBGen Nazarro.
The ceremony highlighted the PNP’s continued efforts to recognize and reward officers who demonstrate outstanding service and dedication to law enforcement.
