Clan Feud in Barangay Ambadao Resolved

Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur – The long-standing clan feud, or “rido,” in Barangay Ambadao has officially been resolved today, September 16, with both parties signing a peace agreement. The resolution was achieved through a concerted dispute resolution effort led by Mayor Datu Victor T. Samama, Alhaj, and Vice Mayor Atty. Mohammad Omar Samama, with the support of key military and peace officials.

Key Figures in the Resolution
The peace agreement was facilitated by Battalion Commander LTC. Al Victor C. Burkley of the 6th Infantry (Redskin) Battalion, alongside Dr. Anwar Alamada from the Peace, Security, and Reconciliation Office (PSRO). Also instrumental in the process were Butch Malang, Chairman of the Coordinating Committee on Cessation of Hostilities and Ad Hoc Joint Action Group (CCCH-AJHAG), and Ustadz Wahid Tundok, Commander of the 118th Base Command.

Financial Assistance for Affected Families
Mayor Samama extended financial assistance to the families who lost loved ones due to the conflict. This gesture aims to help them rebuild their lives and foster a sense of community healing.

Background of the Conflict
The initial agreement between the feuding parties was reached on July 27, following a violent clash earlier that day. Both sides agreed to a proposed dispute resolution, which culminated in today’s formal signing of the peace agreement.
