The 6-days training activity of PHILINDO-STRIKE IV-2024 hosted by 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division, Philippine Army together with Tentara Nasional Indonesia, Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD) culminated last September 2, 2024. Brigadier General Vladimir Cagara, Commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, Philippine Army attended the closing ceremony as the Guest of Honor.
The Philippine Army is represented by the selected staff officers from Joint Task Force Central together with the Indonesian Army delegates from 11th INF BDE (Badik Sakti), TNI-AD who jointly conducted a Bilateral Mission Planning through Tabletop Exercise in the context of implementing counter-terrorism and preventing cross-border terrorism using the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) and Proses Pengambelan Keputusan Militer (PPKM). The training activity is participated by 15 TNI-AD and 19 JTF Central Participants, Training Directorate and HPA/TRADOC representatives.
An open forum facilitated by Col Von Albert Sumergido, Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Education, Philippine Army; Col. Edgar L. Catu, Chief of Staff, 6ID; Col. Inf Yoki Malinton Kurniafari, Commander of the 11th Infantry Brigade Badik Sakti, TNI-AD; and Col Wahyu Akhadi, Army Attache, TNI AD prior to the culmination of the activity. They emphasized the importance of enhancing the warfighting skills and capabilities on joint operations through brigade-level mission planning and table-top exercise, TTPs, interoperability and further strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two armies.
Maj. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, Division Commander of 6ID and JTF Central emphasized that the Command will always actively participate in bilateral and multilateral training activities with foreign military counterparts. “These training activities are instrumental in enhancing the operational capacities of 6ID, enabling us to respond to contingencies effectively, address emerging security threats, and improve our readiness for humanitarian and disaster response scenarios involving armies of two nations,” he said.
