Joint operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office XIII and the Lianga Municipal Police Station successfully conducted a buy-bust operation early this morning, resulting in the arrest of two drug personalities involved in the distribution of illegal drugs. The operation, which took place at 12:13 A.M. in Purok 4, Barangay Poblacion, Lianga, Surigao del Sur, was led by PDEA RO XIII and supported by the Lianga MPS.
During the operation, authorities seized a total of 55 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of Php330,000.00. The confiscated drug evidence includes one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 5 grams of shabu, which was the subject of the sale, and another large heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 50 grams of shabu, subject to possession. Additionally, non-drug evidence was recovered at the scene, including the buy-bust money and one Itel keypad cellular phone.
The arrested individuals were identified as Orly Tanigue y Tagonsod, alias “Orle,” and Neptono Irvin Salcon y Ramos, alias “Irvin/James.” Both suspects are now facing charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
