Nasipit, Agusan del Norte – April 7, 2025 — Authorities confiscated an estimated Php1,020,000 worth of suspected shabu from two alleged high-value individuals during a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Nasipit Municipal Police Station in Central 2, Barangay Cubi-Cubi.

According to Police Colonel April Mark C. Young, Provincial Director of the Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office, the suspects were identified by their aliases “Ronaldo,” a 54-year-old male, and his 48-year-old live-in partner “Amor.” Both are residents of Purok 14A, San Vicente, Butuan City, and are listed as high-value individuals in the region’s drug watchlist.

During the operation, authorities recovered approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of Php1,020,000. Police also seized Php10,000 in cash and various non-drug-related items.

The buy-bust was the result of extensive surveillance and coordination between the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Nasipit Municipal Police Station, the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) 13, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Agusan del Norte Provincial Office.

The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“We want to make it clear that we will not tolerate the use and sale of illegal drugs in our province. If you are involved, we strongly urge you to change your ways and seek help. The consequences are severe—including imprisonment. Let us work together in building a safe and healthy Agusan del Norte. Your cooperation is essential in the fight against illegal drugs,” said PCol Young.

Authorities continue to strengthen efforts in curbing the illegal drug trade in the province, calling on the public for active cooperation in the ongoing campaign.
