BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga has officially turned over 16,495.24 board feet of confiscated forest products to the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte to support a housing project for Friends Rescued (FR) beneficiaries.

The turnover ceremony was held on March 25, 2025, at the office of the Regional Executive Director in Ambago, Butuan City. OIC-Regional Executive Director (RED) Maritess M. Ocampo led the donation process, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to utilizing confiscated forest products for community welfare.

The donated logs, which came from the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Nasipit, will be used in constructing housing units in Sitio Talaganahao, Barangay Talo-ao, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

A Deed of Donation was formally signed during the event, with OIC-RED Ocampo representing DENR Caraga and Provincial Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell M. Amante signing on behalf of the provincial government. Witnessing the agreement were newly appointed Agusan del Norte Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PENRO) Adelaida R. Borja and CENRO Nelson B. Caranzo of Nasipit.

The initiative aligns with the DENR’s commitment to responsible environmental management while contributing to the social development of affected communities.
