TUGAYA, Lanao del Sur – The quick action of law enforcement authorities led to the arrest of two individuals engaged in illegal activities in Barangay Lumbac, Tugaya, Lanao del Sur, on March 24, 2025.

Provincial Director PCOL Robert S. Daculan of the Lanao del Sur Police Provincial Office (LDSPPO) commended the personnel of Tugaya Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) for their prompt response to a concerned citizen’s report about alleged illegal activities in the area at around 4:25 PM.

According to the investigation, the report prompted joint police forces to immediately proceed to the location. Upon their arrival, the suspects were caught in the act of possessing illegal drugs.

Seized from the suspects were fifteen (15) heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as “shabu.” The confiscated drugs weighed approximately 0.45 grams with an estimated market value of Php3,000. Also recovered from the suspects were a .38 caliber revolver without ammunition and two peso bills (Php50 and Php100).

The arrested individuals, both residents of Tugaya, were informed of their constitutional rights in a language they understood. They are currently in the custody of Tugaya MPS for documentation and further legal proceedings.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and order in the province and encouraged the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement by reporting suspicious activities in their communities.
