Madrid, Surigao del Sur – A coordinated law enforcement operation resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia in Barangay Linibunan, Madrid, Surigao del Sur, on the evening of March 27, 2025.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office XIII – Surigao del Sur Provincial Office (PDEA RO XIII-SDSPPO), in collaboration with the Madrid Municipal Police Station, implemented a search warrant at around 7:10 PM targeting an individual classified as a high-value target (HVT).
During the operation, authorities seized approximately seven grams of shabu, with an estimated street value of Php47,600.00. Various drug paraphernalia, including disposable lighters, a rubber vape case, and a glass pipe, were also recovered from the suspect’s possession.
Following the raid, the arrested suspect is now facing charges for violations of Sections 11, 12, and 15, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended.
This successful anti-drug operation highlights the commitment of law enforcement agencies to intensify efforts in combating illegal drug activities in the region. Authorities have reiterated their dedication to upholding public safety and ensuring that those involved in the illegal drug trade are held accountable.
