In a significant move to promote public safety through responsible gun ownership, the Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has strengthened its campaign to adhere to legal standards on firearm regulation. As a result, the province has been recognized as the only local government unit (LGU) in the Davao Region to achieve 100% compliance—from individual registration (for employee use) to full government ownership of firearms—under Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

During a simple ceremony at the Provincial Capitol, the Provincial Government also honored the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for its support in tightening the regulation on firearm registration and government ownership.

Through this program, a more efficient and streamlined system has been established to monitor and safeguard government-owned firearms, ensuring public safety.

In a meeting with Governor Niño Uy, officials from PNP-Davao Region expressed their gratitude for his commitment to strengthening the responsible management of government firearms.

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental remains steadfast in leading initiatives that enhance security and maintain peace and order across the province.
