Lanao del Sur took a significant step in bolstering its disaster preparedness as Governor Mamintal “Bombit” Alonto Adiong Jr. and 1st District Representative Ziaur-Rahman “Zia” Alonto Adiong led the ceremonial turnover of rescue vehicles. These essential emergency response units will be deployed in Marawi City and 13 municipalities within the First District of Lanao del Sur, namely:

  • Buadiposo-Bunting
  • Lumba Bayabao
  • Maguing
  • Manabilang
  • Marantao
  • Masiu
  • Mulondo
  • Piagapo
  • Tagoloan
  • Tamparan
  • Taraka
  • Wao

The initiative aims to enhance emergency response and disaster preparedness at the local government level. By providing these rescue vehicles, the provincial government ensures that municipalities are equipped to handle rescue and evacuation operations during calamities, safeguarding the well-being of residents in times of crisis.

Governor Adiong emphasized the importance of proactive measures in disaster risk reduction, highlighting the role of these vehicles in strengthening the capacity of local governments to respond promptly and effectively to emergencies.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to the safety and welfare of our constituents. Preparedness is key to mitigating the impact of disasters, and with these rescue vehicles, our municipalities will be better equipped to respond,” said Governor Adiong.

Meanwhile, Representative Zia Adiong reiterated the need for continued collaboration among local leaders, agencies, and communities to build a more resilient Lanao del Sur.

“We must work together in ensuring that our province remains prepared and capable of responding to any disaster. These rescue vehicles symbolize our collective efforts to create a safer and more dependable Lanao del Sur,” he stated.
