Upon arriving at the site, the patrol encountered approximately 25 armed individuals who attempted to flee. However, the suspects were forced to abandon their weapons as they evaded capture.
A subsequent search of the area uncovered a cache of assorted high-powered firearms and ammunition, including:
- Six (6) M4 rifles
- Six (6) M16 rifles
- Two (2) M16 rifles with 203 grenade launchers
- Two (2) M14 rifles
- One (1) M1 Garand rifle
- One (1) 7.62 sniper rifle
- One (1) .45 caliber pistol
- 735 assorted rounds of ammunition

The operation’s success is particularly significant as it underscores the enforcement of the Commission on Elections’ (COMELEC) Gun Ban, outlined in Resolution No. 11067. This measure prohibits the display and possession of firearms during the election period to prevent election-related violence and maintain peace.
The swift and decisive action of the 34th IB’s Alpha Company highlights the unit’s unwavering commitment to upholding the law and protecting public safety. By neutralizing potential threats, the unit has contributed to fostering a secure environment for the upcoming elections.
All confiscated firearms and ammunition are being processed as part of ongoing efforts to address armed threats and ensure long-term peace in the region. The 34th Infantry Battalion continues to work closely with local communities and stakeholders, reinforcing its dedication to peacebuilding initiatives and addressing future security challenges in BARMM.
