A suspected drug pusher was arrested by authorities during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Calaan, Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte, at around 9:10 PM on Monday, January 20, 2025.
The suspect, identified as Musa Motalib Tausing, also known as “Pepe Tausing,” 35 years old, married, and a resident of Barangay Calaan, was apprehended by operatives from the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) of the Buldon Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by PLT. Tony A. Dimaro.
The operation resulted in the confiscation of the following items:
- Six small transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.5 grams, valued at PHP 3,400, purchased during the operation.
- One PHP 1,000 bill used as buy-bust money.
- Three small sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.2 grams, valued at PHP 1,360, found in the suspect’s possession.
- Three cellphones of different brands.
- One pack of cigarettes.
- One improvised all-weather glass pipe.
- Three lighters.
- One cellphone charger.
- One Casio Edifice watch.
The suspect was informed of his constitutional rights in a language he understood.
Tausing is now facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The confiscated evidence is currently in the custody of Buldon MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
Authorities continue their efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the region, urging the public to report suspicious activities in their communities.
