Maribulan, Alabel, Sarangani Province – On January 2, 2025, Police Brigadier General Arnold P. Ardiente, Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of Police Regional Office 12 (PRO 12), visited the 2nd Platoon of the 1st Sarangani Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) in Barangay Maribulan to extend support to personnel affected by the devastating flash flood that struck the area on December 26, 2024.

The calamity occurred while the police personnel were conducting a rescue operation for stranded vehicles and commuters trapped by floodwaters along the National Highway in Barangay Maribulan. The flash flood developed rapidly, catching the responders off-guard and resulting in injuries to four police officers and structural damages to their camp. Despite their valiant efforts, the situation highlighted the risks faced by first responders during emergencies.

In his visit, PBGEN Ardiente distributed PNP uniforms, grocery packs, and cash assistance to the affected personnel. These relief items aim to alleviate the immediate needs of the officers and support their recovery. The initiative reflects the PNP’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of its personnel, particularly those who risk their lives to serve the community.

“This distribution is not only about providing material support but also a reminder that the organization stands behind its people, especially in times of crisis,” PBGEN Ardiente emphasized during his address to the officers. He further acknowledged the dedication of the personnel, commending their bravery and sacrifice despite the adverse circumstances.
