Digos City—A tragic accident unfolded in Purok 7, Barangay San Roque, on the morning of December 22, 2024, when a 60-foot tower collapsed, leading to the fall of two young men.
The victims were identified as alias “Jay,” 16, who tragically lost his life, and alias “Mark,” 19, who sustained chest injuries and is currently recovering at a local hospital.
According to the police report filed by the mother of the minor, both individuals were working part-time for an internet service provider at the time of the incident.
The pair were reportedly descending the tower when it gave way, causing them to plummet to the ground. Emergency responders rushed the victims to the hospital, but “Jay” was declared dead at around 12 noon due to severe injuries.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse, including potential structural weaknesses in the tower.
