Cotabato City — The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) officially welcomed newly appointed teaching, teaching-related, and non-teaching personnel during a ceremonial signing of appointments and oath-taking held on December 20 at the MBHTE Main Office in Cotabato City. The event was presided over by Education Minister Mohagher M. Iqbal.
A total of 40 personnel, including 23 teaching, 9 teaching-related, and 8 non-teaching staff, formally joined the ranks of the MBHTE. These individuals pledged their dedication to delivering quality education and embraced the Ministry’s vision of ensuring that no Bangsamoro learner is left behind.
In his keynote address, Minister Iqbal highlighted the pivotal role of competence in achieving educational excellence. “First, we must focus on the competence of our teachers, followed by the administration, resources, and government support. However, the most important factor in the effort to achieve quality education is you—the teachers,” he stated. Minister Iqbal also underscored the significant responsibilities of educators in shaping the future of Bangsamoro learners, urging them to uphold professionalism and prioritize their obligations.
Human Resource Management Officer (HRMO) Chief Monette E. Estacio-Kari echoed these sentiments, reminding the appointees of their critical roles in advancing the MBHTE’s mission. “I hope you perform your duties and responsibilities with utmost professionalism, as our obligation should come first before our rights,” she emphasized.
The ceremony underscored the Ministry’s steadfast commitment to fostering a robust educational system in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The newly inducted personnel are expected to contribute significantly to the Ministry’s goals of promoting inclusive and equitable education for all Bangsamoro learners.
This milestone event reflects MBHTE’s proactive efforts in addressing educational challenges and strengthening the foundation of education in the region. As the appointees embark on their new roles, they carry with them the collective aspiration of creating a brighter future for Bangsamoro students.
