Tagum City, Philippines — In a significant step toward combating climate change, Tagum City joined other cities from Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines in the City Leaders: Southeast Asian Commitment to the Paris Agreement summit held in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event underscores regional collaboration in addressing the global climate crisis.

Representing Tagum City was Councilor Engr. Agripino G. Coquilla Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Environmental Protection and Ecology, who attended on behalf of Mayor Rey T. Uy. The summit provided an international platform to showcase the city’s environmental initiatives and priorities aimed at reducing its carbon footprint, a crucial step in mitigating climate change.

Mayor Uy highlighted the importance of collective action, stating:
