Two suspects were apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Maramag Municipal Police Station (MPS) Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) on December 5, 2024, in Purok 2, North Poblacion, Maramag, Bukidnon.

The suspects, identified as alias “JR,” a 26-year-old mechanic from Don Carlos, Bukidnon, and alias “Junie Boy,” a 28-year-old mechanic from Maramag, Bukidnon, were taken into custody for their involvement in the illegal drug trade.

Authorities revealed that alias “JR” had a prior arrest for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (R.A. No. 9165), while alias “Junie Boy” is a first-time offender. Investigations disclosed that their drug supply originated from Lanao del Sur and was distributed across Don Carlos, Bukidnon, and neighboring municipalities.

Confiscated during the operation were 13 heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 20 grams, with an estimated value of PHP 136,000, along with two plastic cellophane containers, a gray and black pouch, a sling bag, an Android phone, two motorcycles, and a PHP 500 bill used as marked money.

The suspects and seized items are now under the custody of Maramag MPS, with charges for violations of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) under Article II of R.A. No. 9165 being prepared against them.
