Maramag, Bukidnon — Three individuals were arrested during an early morning buy-bust operation in Purok 4, Barangay Basecamp, Maramag, Bukidnon, in a coordinated anti-drug and anti-crime effort.

The suspects, identified by their aliases “Tibor,” “Cocoy,” and “Lalang,” were caught with 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, valued at approximately ₱102,000. Authorities also seized a .45 caliber pistol, a magazine, and live ammunition from their possession.

The operation, conducted at around 2:06 a.m. on February 8, 2026, was a joint effort of the Maramag Municipal Police Station, Bukidnon Police Intelligence Unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 10. Police said the operation involved the use of a sachet of suspected shabu as a buy-bust item, while several other sachets of the illegal substance were recovered from the suspects’ custody. Additional items confiscated included a cellphone, a bag, a coin purse, and the ₱500 buy-bust money.

“The successful arrest and seizure demonstrate our continued commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and enforcing firearms laws in the municipality,” said a police official.

The arrested suspects are currently in the custody of the Maramag Municipal Police Station as authorities prepare charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and Republic Act 10591, also known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. Meanwhile, the confiscated drugs and firearm will be sent to the Police Forensic Unit 10 for laboratory and ballistic examinations.

This latest operation reflects Bukidnon law enforcement’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms, aiming to keep communities safe from criminal elements.
