CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — Police operatives arrested a 40-year-old woman identified as a high-value individual (HVI) and seized approximately 90.42 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱614,856 during the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Lapasan early Friday, October 16, 2026.

The operation was conducted at approximately 2:15 a.m. by the Special Operations Unit 10 of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP DEG), under the leadership of its officer-in-charge, Police Colonel Roel L. Lami-ing, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA-10).

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Diling,” was arrested during the operation carried out by a composite team of law enforcement personnel pursuant to Search Warrant No. SWA-091426-950. Authorities also confiscated other non-drug items, although the specific items were not identified in the initial report.

The operation involved personnel from the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group 10–Mindanao Field Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 10, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Regional Intelligence Division, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, Police Regional Office 10, PNP Maritime Group 10, the City Drug Enforcement Unit, and Police Station 3 of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office.

Following her arrest, the suspect was brought to Police Station 3 for documentation and proper disposition. The confiscated suspected illegal drugs were subsequently turned over to Regional Forensic Unit 10 for laboratory examination to establish their identity and composition.

Police Colonel Lami-ing said the implementation of the search warrant formed part of the PNP’s continuing efforts to address illegal drug activities and enforce the law. He emphasized the importance of pursuing legitimate leads while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and respect for due process in law enforcement operations.

The reported seizure underscores the continuing anti-drug enforcement efforts of police and partner agencies in Northern Mindanao. However, the allegations against the arrested woman remain subject to the legal process, and the suspected substance must undergo laboratory examination.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details regarding the case, including the specific charges to be filed against the suspect and the results of the forensic examination. The suspect is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
