EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental, Philippines — A 20-year-old alleged street-level drug personality was arrested after authorities seized approximately 25 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱170,000 during a buy-bust operation in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental, on the evening of October 6.

Police identified the arrested suspect only as alias “Celo,” a resident of Barangay Sinaloc, El Salvador City.
Authorities said the operation resulted in the confiscation of three sachets containing suspected shabu, along with the buy-bust money used during the operation. The seized substance was valued by authorities at approximately ₱170,000.
The operation was led by personnel of the El Salvador City Police Station, with support from the Misamis Oriental Provincial Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, and the Western Misamis Oriental Maritime Law Enforcement Team.
The coordinated operation underscores the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies in Misamis Oriental to disrupt the distribution of illegal drugs at the community and street levels.
Following his arrest, “Celo” was placed under the custody of the El Salvador City Police Station for proper documentation and disposition. The confiscated suspected illegal drugs are expected to undergo the appropriate examination and legal procedures.
Authorities reiterated that the arrest forms part of the continuing campaign against illegal drugs in Northern Mindanao, particularly efforts aimed at preventing prohibited substances from reaching communities.
Police Regional Office 10 Regional Director PBGEN Nestor C. Babagay Jr. emphasized the continuing enforcement of anti-illegal drug operations and called on the public to cooperate with authorities by reporting information that could help prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs in local communities.
The suspect will face the appropriate charges under existing laws, subject to the findings of the investigation and the determination of prosecutors and the courts.
