DAVAO CITY — The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has offered a ₱500,000 reward for information that could lead to the identification and arrest of two suspects believed to be behind a series of robbery incidents in the Matina area early Tuesday, October 6, 2026.

The reward was announced as the Talomo Police Station intensified its investigation and launched a dragnet operation following three reported robbery incidents in Matina Crossing and Matina Aplaya.

Police said the incidents occurred within a short period and involved a woman who was robbed in GSIS Subdivision, an attempted robbery at a motor shop in Matina GSIS Heights that resulted in a shooting, and a robbery at a mini grocery store in Matina Aplaya.

Woman robbed in Matina Crossing

The first reported incident involved a woman in GSIS Subdivision, Matina Crossing, who was allegedly robbed by the suspects.

Police said the victim lost her bag containing cash and personal belongings.

Investigators are now examining available CCTV footage and other evidence to establish the movements of the suspects before and after the incident.

Motor shop robbery attempt ends in shooting

The suspects allegedly proceeded to a nearby motor shop, where they attempted to carry out another robbery.

The incident occurred at Marwerks Garage in the Matina GSIS area at around 1:37 a.m., according to an earlier account from the establishment’s owner.

The owner, identified as Mar Israel, previously said that one of the suspects initially appeared to be someone they knew before suddenly entering the establishment and allegedly pointing a firearm at people inside.

The situation escalated when the owner instinctively pushed the suspect after becoming frightened. The gunman allegedly fired his weapon during the confrontation or while fleeing, hitting Israel in the right arm.

The victim was brought to Brokenshire Hospital for medical attention. An X-ray reportedly showed that the bullet did not strike any bone.

Police later recovered three spent bullet casings from the area where the shooting occurred.

Authorities are continuing to examine the CCTV footage from the establishment and surrounding areas as investigators work to establish the exact sequence of events and identify the gunman.

Mini grocery store also robbed

The suspects were also linked by police to a third incident at a mini grocery store in Matina Aplaya.

Police said the suspects managed to take more than ₱2,000 in cash from the establishment.

Earlier reports had placed the amount taken at around ₱4,000, but police accounts later cited more than ₱2,000. The investigation is expected to establish the final amount lost.

The three incidents prompted the Talomo Police Station to conduct a dragnet operation targeting the two suspects believed to be responsible.

₱500,000 reward for information

With investigators still working to establish the identities and whereabouts of the suspects, the DCPO is offering ₱500,000 to anyone who can provide information that will directly assist authorities in identifying and apprehending them.

Talomo Police Station commander Police Major Sheryl Bautista said investigators are continuously conducting CCTV backtracking and gathering additional evidence in an effort to identify the suspects.

The police also assured potential informants that their identities would be kept strictly confidential.

Individuals with relevant information may call or text 0945 408 3703 or communicate through the Talomo Police Station Official Facebook Page.

Police are urging residents, business owners, workers and other members of the public who may have witnessed the incidents or noticed suspicious persons or vehicles in the area to come forward.

Authorities are particularly examining CCTV recordings and other information that could help determine the suspects’ movements and possible escape routes.

The latest investigation represents a significant expansion from the initial report of an armed robbery and shooting at a single establishment. Police are now treating the incidents as a possible series of related robberies involving the same two suspects, pending the outcome of the investigation.

The suspects remain at large as of the latest police information.

Authorities reiterated that information from the public could be crucial in preventing further incidents and bringing those responsible before the law.
