KABACAN, NORTH COTABATO — A man was shot dead along the boundary area of Barangay Bannawag and Malanduague in Kabacan, North Cotabato, in an incident that has raised concern among residents in the area.

The victim was reportedly riding a Honda XRM motorcycle when he was attacked. Initial information identified him only by the alias “Kokong,” reportedly a resident of Dungguan, Datu Montawal.
According to the victim’s sibling, they had reportedly come from Pisan after attending a kanduli, a communal gathering or thanksgiving meal traditionally held in connection with a religious or family occasion. The victim was reportedly traveling on his motorcycle when the shooting occurred near the Bannawag–Malanduague boundary.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear. Authorities are expected to determine the identity of the gunman or gunmen, the motive for the shooting, and whether the incident was targeted or connected to any previous dispute.
The victim’s death has left his family and companions mourning, with the circumstances of the shooting now the subject of an investigation.
