LAMBAYONG, Sultan Kudarat — A 28-year-old man identified by police as a suspected drug personality was arrested after authorities implemented a search warrant that led to the recovery of more than 16 grams of suspected shabu in Barangay Katitisan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, early Friday morning, August 28, 2026.
The operation was carried out at approximately 5:56 a.m. by personnel of the Lambayong Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Sultan Kudarat Provincial Police Office (SKPPO), Regional Intelligence Unit 12 (RIU 12), Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12 (RMFB 12), 1st Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (1st SKPMFC), 23rd Mechanized Company of the Philippine Army, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 12 (PDEA 12).
Police said the team implemented a search warrant for an alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, resulting in the arrest of the suspect identified only by the alias “Kinchay.”
Authorities reported recovering approximately 16.19 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of ₱110,092, during the search. Drug paraphernalia were also reportedly seized from the area.
The operation forms part of the continuing campaign of law enforcement agencies in Sultan Kudarat and the broader Soccsksargen region against the distribution and possession of illegal drugs.
Following the operation, the suspect and the confiscated items were placed under the custody of the Lambayong MPS for documentation, proper disposition, and the filing of appropriate charges.
Police Regional Office 12 Director PBGEN Alan B. Manibog reaffirmed the regional police command’s commitment to intensifying its campaign against illegal drugs.
“Patuloy nating paiigtingin ang operasyon laban sa ilegal na droga. Walang lugar sa ating mga komunidad ang mga taong sumisira sa kinabukasan ng ating mga kabataan at pamilya,” Manibog said.
The recovery of 16.19 grams of suspected shabu represents another drug seizure by law enforcement authorities in the region as police and partner agencies continue conducting intelligence-driven operations and serving court-issued warrants against individuals allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.
The seized substance will be subjected to the appropriate examination and inventory procedures, while the arrested suspect remains under police custody pending the legal proceedings arising from the operation.
As with all drug-related arrests, the allegations against the suspect remain subject to court proceedings, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.
