GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A 30-year-old suspected drug personality was arrested after police operatives recovered illegal drugs and an unlicensed firearm during the implementation of a court-issued search warrant in Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City, late Thursday night, July 9.

The operation, conducted at approximately 10:52 p.m. in Purok Catapang Heights, was led by personnel of Police Station 10 of the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO), in coordination with other law enforcement units as part of the Philippine National Police’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms.
During the operation, authorities confiscated approximately four grams of suspected shabu with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱27,200, along with one caliber .38 revolver, four live rounds of ammunition, and several other pieces of evidence believed to be linked to the suspect’s alleged illegal activities.
Police said the search warrant was served in strict compliance with legal procedures. The operation was witnessed by the mandatory civilian representatives as required by law, while responding officers also utilized Body-Worn Cameras (BWCs) throughout the operation to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to established operational protocols.
The confiscated suspected illegal drugs and firearm have been turned over for laboratory examination and proper forensic processing.
Authorities are preparing to file criminal charges against the suspect for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police officials emphasized that the successful operation reflects the continuing efforts of law enforcement agencies to dismantle illegal drug networks while simultaneously addressing the proliferation of loose firearms that pose a threat to public safety.
PBGEN Alan B. Manibog, Acting Regional Director of the Police Regional Office 12 (PRO-12), reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to aggressively enforcing the law against criminal elements.
“Hindi tayo titigil sa pagpapatupad ng batas laban sa iligal na droga at mga ipinagbabawal na armas. Bawat matagumpay na operasyon ay hakbang tungo sa mas ligtas at mapayapang pamayanan para sa bawat mamamayan,” Manibog said.
The operation forms part of PRO-12’s intensified anti-criminality campaign aimed at reducing the circulation of dangerous drugs and illegal firearms across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
Police continue to encourage the public to support law enforcement efforts by reporting illegal drug activities and the possession of unlicensed firearms, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in maintaining peace, order, and public safety.
