GENERAL SANTOS CITY — A 40-year-old trisikad driver was arrested after authorities seized more than ₱134,000 worth of suspected shabu during a successful anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) on Wednesday evening, July 2.

The buy-bust entrapment operation was carried out at approximately 6:25 p.m. along Guinto Street, Purok Masunurin, Barangay San Isidro by personnel of the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit (CPDEU), in coordination with the City Intelligence Unit and Police Station 4.
The suspect, identified only by his alias “Pikot,” was apprehended after allegedly selling suspected illegal drugs to an undercover police operative.
Authorities recovered four large sachets and one small sachet containing suspected shabu with a combined estimated weight of 19.8 grams. The seized illegal drugs have an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱134,640.00. Also confiscated during the operation were the marked buy-bust money and other pieces of evidence related to the illegal drug transaction.
Police said the anti-drug operation was conducted in accordance with the requirements of the law and established operational procedures. The inventory and documentation of the confiscated evidence were witnessed by the mandatory representatives, including a barangay official and a member of the media, to ensure transparency and preserve the integrity of the evidence.
Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the City Police Drug Enforcement Unit headquarters for proper documentation, booking procedures, and medical examination.
Meanwhile, the confiscated suspected shabu was turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit 12 for laboratory examination to confirm its composition and to support the filing of appropriate criminal charges.
Acting GSCPO City Director Police Colonel Eric R. De Venancio commended the operating teams for the successful operation, emphasizing the police force’s unwavering commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs.
He assured the public that the General Santos City Police Office remains relentless in its efforts to dismantle illegal drug networks and protect communities from the harmful effects of prohibited substances.
The arrested suspect is expected to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while authorities continue their investigation to determine whether he has links to a larger drug distribution network operating within the city.
The latest operation forms part of GSCPO’s sustained anti-illegal drug campaign aimed at maintaining peace and order and ensuring that General Santos City remains a safe, secure, and drug-free community.
