MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — A regular employee of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon was arrested during a joint anti-drug operation conducted by authorities in Barangay Sumpong, Malaybalay City on Wednesday morning, May 27.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10), together with the Philippine National Police (PNP), successfully carried out a buy-bust operation at around 10:30 a.m. along Sta. Cruz Street, Purok 5, Barangay Sumpong.

The operation was spearheaded by the PDEA Regional Special Enforcement Team – ALPHA (RSET ALPHA), with assistance from the PDEA Bukidnon Provincial Office and the Malaybalay City Police Station.

PDEA Regional Director Alex M. Tablate identified the arrested suspect only by his alias “Miko,” a 29-year-old married man and a resident of the area. Authorities disclosed that the suspect is a regular employee of the Provincial Government of Bukidnon.

Recovered from the suspect were five sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around five grams, with an estimated standard drug price of ₱34,000.

Authorities also confiscated several items allegedly linked to illegal drug activities, including a green sling bag, a coin purse, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked buy-bust money used during the operation.

The suspect is now under the custody of authorities and is set to face charges for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These charges cover the illegal sale, possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

PDEA reiterated its commitment to intensifying anti-drug operations across Northern Mindanao and warned government employees and public servants against involvement in illegal drug activities, stressing that no one will be spared from law enforcement operations regardless of position or status.
