KIBAWE, Bukidnon — A 47-year-old man was brutally mauled and stabbed by three individuals during a fiesta and baptism celebration in a remote village in Kibawe, Bukidnon, authorities confirmed.

The violent incident occurred in Sitio Pangantapan, Barangay Tumaras, where the victim reportedly arrived intoxicated and caused a disturbance while carrying a knife, based on initial police investigation.
Witnesses said the man began acting aggressively during the festivities, prompting a confrontation that quickly escalated into violence. The suspects allegedly ganged up on the victim—beating him repeatedly before stabbing him multiple times.
The victim sustained four stab wounds and suffered severe head injuries, indicating the level of force used during the assault. Responding authorities recovered several pieces of evidence at the scene, including a blood-stained stone, a piece of firewood, and a knife believed to have been used in the attack.
Police operatives swiftly arrested the three suspects following the incident. Their identities have not yet been disclosed pending formal charges.
Authorities are preparing to file appropriate criminal charges against the suspects, which may include frustrated homicide or attempted murder, depending on the medical assessment of the victim’s condition.
