MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon — Two siblings were hospitalized after being stabbed during a violent altercation involving four men in Barangay Miglamin on the night of April 2, 2026, authorities reported.

According to the Malaybalay City Police Station, the incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. and stemmed from a confrontation that quickly escalated into a stabbing.
Initial investigation revealed that the younger victim, a minor, had gone to visit his girlfriend in Purok 1B of the barangay when he was allegedly attacked by the group of suspects. The minor managed to escape and immediately sought help from his 22-year-old older sibling.
Responding to the call for help, the older sibling rushed to the area, and together, they proceeded to the residence of one of the suspects to confront the group. However, the situation intensified into a heated argument and physical commotion.
Police said the older sibling reportedly struck one of the suspects with a piece of wood during the altercation, prompting retaliation from the group. The suspects then allegedly pulled out bladed weapons and stabbed both victims.
Despite sustaining multiple injuries, the siblings were able to call for assistance from their family and were swiftly brought to a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed that both victims are now in stable condition but remain confined for further medical treatment.
Swift response from members of the Barangay Public Safety Office (BPSO) led to the immediate arrest of two of the four suspects involved. The remaining two suspects remain at large, with ongoing follow-up operations being conducted by the police.
Authorities have launched a deeper investigation to determine the full motive behind the attack and to ensure that appropriate charges will be filed against all individuals involved.
Police also urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects.
