TUPI, South Cotabato – Authorities are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered in a creek in Purok 2, Barangay Crossing Rubber on Saturday night, March 7.

The victim was identified as Raul Jorda Bendoy, a resident of the same barangay.

Initial reports from local authorities said Bendoy was already lifeless when he was found in the creek by residents in the area. The discovery prompted villagers to immediately alert the police, who responded to the scene to conduct an initial investigation.

Police said a physical examination of the body showed no visible wounds, bruises, or any signs of external injury, leading investigators to initially rule out foul play.

According to information gathered by authorities, Bendoy had reportedly complained of pain at the back of his neck prior to the incident. Investigators are considering the possibility that he may have suffered a sudden medical episode while near or inside the creek, which could have led to his death.

However, authorities emphasized that the exact cause of death has yet to be determined, pending further investigation and possible medical examination.

The local police continue to gather statements from witnesses and residents in the area to piece together Bendoy’s final movements before he was found dead.

Officials said the investigation remains ongoing to establish the true circumstances surrounding the incident and confirm whether the death was due to natural causes or other factors.
