DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao del Norte — The 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division formally received newly acquired and refurbished equipment during a ceremonial turnover held February 26, 2026, at its headquarters in Camp Siongco, underscoring the unit’s continuing push to enhance operational readiness and support peace and security efforts across Central Mindanao.

The ceremony, held in front of the Administration Building, featured the presentation and handover of repaired military vehicles, firearms, and sets of Individual Clothing and Individual Equipment (ICIE). The activity was led by Colonel Clarence Garrido, Group Commander of the 2nd Logistics Support Group, who oversaw the formal presentation of the newly restored and acquired assets.

Military officials said the equipment upgrade forms part of the division’s broader modernization and logistics improvement efforts aimed at ensuring troops deployed in various operational areas are better equipped to respond to security challenges and humanitarian missions.

Prior to the turnover, the equipment and supplies underwent a traditional blessing ceremony, a customary practice within the Armed Forces seeking divine guidance and protection for soldiers who will utilize the gear in the line of duty.

Major General Jose Vladimir R. Cagara, Commander of the 6th Infantry (Kampilan) Division and Joint Task Force Central, was represented during the event by Colonel Manuel Leo Q. Gador, the division’s Chief of Staff. He was joined by Lt. Col. Jeffrey Caro, Commanding Officer of the 12th Forward Service Support Unit under the Support Command of the Philippine Army, in formally receiving the assets on behalf of the division.

The turnover symbolized the official integration of the equipment into the division’s operational system, which military officials said will significantly improve mobility, logistics, and field support capabilities of the division’s subordinate units across the region.

In a message delivered during the ceremony, Cagara expressed appreciation for the additional resources, emphasizing their importance in strengthening the capabilities of troops operating on the ground.

“This successful turnover symbolizes our commitment to empowering our personnel in the field. The formal integration of this equipment marks a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to modernize the Kampilan Division,” Cagara said in a statement. “These are not merely military equipment; these are instruments of peace and security.”

The 6th Infantry Division plays a crucial role in maintaining stability in parts of Mindanao, supporting government efforts in counterinsurgency, disaster response, and community security initiatives. Officials said the latest addition of vehicles, firearms, and field gear is expected to further enhance the division’s ability to respond swiftly to emerging threats and operational demands while continuing its mission of protecting communities and sustaining peace in the region.
