Surigao City, February 7, 2026 – Two young men were seriously injured in a shooting incident early this morning outside the Central Place Bar and KTV on Borromeo Street, Barangay Taft. The attack occurred around 2:30 a.m., according to the Surigao City Component Police Station.
Authorities identified the suspect as Marvin Daan Estampa, 23, a resident of Purok 10, Barangay Mabini. Estampa was apprehended in a follow-up operation conducted by local police, days after the incident.
The victims were identified as Bryan Yumontod Bangali, 22, from Sitio Escalon, Barangay Cagniog, and Bemark Toraja Alce, 20, from Barangay Capalayan. Preliminary investigations led by PMSg. During the confrontation, Estampa reportedly drew a firearm and shot both men.
Bangali sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg, while Alce was hit on his right shoulder. Both victims were immediately rushed to Caraga Regional Hospital for medical treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
Police said that after the shooting, the suspect fled the scene with four companions on a black tricycle with no visible body number. A spent .45 caliber shell casing was recovered from the crime scene.
Estampa is now in police custody at the Surigao City Component Police Station, facing appropriate criminal charges. Authorities continue to investigate whether his companions were involved in the incident.
