MISAMIS ORIENTAL / MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL — Authorities seized a combined ₱44,200 worth of suspected shabu and arrested two individuals in separate anti-illegal drugs operations conducted on January 18, 2026, in the provinces of Misamis Oriental and Misamis Occidental.


In Opol, a Newly Identified Individual (NII) was arrested at around 7:47 p.m. during an anti-drug operation in Zone 5, Barangay Luyong Bon-Bon. Operatives recovered approximately 4.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of ₱30,600. Also seized were several sachets of the illegal substance, ₱500 buy-bust money, and an empty cigarette case allegedly used to conceal the drugs.
The operation was carried out by the Opol Municipal Police Station in coordination with the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and covered by the required pre-operation authority.
Meanwhile, in Sinacaban, a suspected street-level individual identified as alias “Badong,” 21, unemployed and a resident of Libertad Bajo, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at around 3:15 a.m. in Purok Santal, Poblacion. Police confiscated about 2 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱13,600, along with ₱500 buy-bust money and a cellular phone believed to have been used in illegal drug transactions.
The operation was led by the Sinacaban Municipal Police Station under the supervision of Police Captain Dennis Oche, also in coordination with PDEA and backed by tip information and proper authority.
Both suspects are now in police custody and are set to face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165. Confiscated items were properly documented and will undergo laboratory examination.
Police officials said intensified anti-drug operations will continue across the region as part of efforts to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensure safer communities in Northern Mindanao.
